Trailer: The Last Exorcism Part II (2013)

Coming to theaters March 1, 2013 from CBS Films and producer Eli (Hostel) Roth is The Last Exorcism Part II, a sequel to the popular and controversial found-footage film, The Last Exorcism (2010). Replacing director Daniel Stamm is Ed Gass-Donnelly who also provides the script along with Damien Chazelle. Ashley Bell returns as Nell Sweetzer along with a new cast that includes Spencer Treat Clark, Andrew Sensenig, Judd Lormand, Julia Garner, Muse Watson, E. Roger Mitchell and Raeden Greer.

The trailer reveals the film shifts focus from Cotton (Patrick Fabian) Marcus to Nell Sweetzer as she struggles to find a life after the horrific events that closed the original film. Also abandoned along the way is the cinema-verite filming technique opting for a more traditional style film. The story has Nell arriving at a wayward home for girls (or somewhere similar) but still being chased by the demons and cult from the first film. New dangers, new settings, new cast, new approach but with similar themes and horror. Looks like a winning new mix and a promising sequel.
