Trailer: Mama (2012)

What is perhaps one of the creepiest trailer to come out in some time is the Guillermo del Toro produced horror film from director  Andres Muschietti simply called Mama.

The trailer shows the film centering around two young sisters who are discovered living on their own in a remote cabin after their parents go missing and are presumed dead. By the time they are found, the girls are more feral than civilized, especially the youngest. They are reunited with relatives when they end up in the custody of their uncle. However, they may not be the only ones moving in. The trailer promises a chilling ghost story.

Check out the trailer below, it was recently discussed on the Monster Movie Podcast and may be the winner of the genre films coming out next January. The imagery is creepy. The acting looks solid, especially from the young girls and the ideas promise to get the skin crawling.

The trailer is expertly edited, providing the story and hint at the base creepy factor and a hint at what may be a twist. Some may think it is a bit spoilery, as some trailers certainly can be, but it may only be teasing and tantalizing its intended audience. Let us know what  you think.
